Napa Valley Masters Water Polo Club is seeking an individual to fill the position of coach.

The mission and purpose of the Napa Valley Masters Water Polo Club (NVMWP) is to provide top quality water polo instruction and to compete at local and national level events. We strive to create a safe, competitive environment, and to build self-esteem, teamwork, character and a strong work ethic.
The Napa Valley Masters Water Polo Club is a registered club with USA Water Polo and is open to all ages and skill levels in the Napa area. We hold four weekly practices (three in the winter time) and an annual, individual-entry tournament for women’s and men’s teams. We have an active roster of about 40 players.

The coach will work alongside the NVMWP Board, and be responsible for the design and execution of practices.

• Develop the overall coaching philosophy to create consistent training and competitive methods in conjunction with the NVMWP Board.
• Oversees weekly practices. M,W,F at noon and Sundays at 9 am at Napa Valley College in the spring, summer and fall months. Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sundays at 9 am November through January.

Desired Qualifications:
• Proven on deck coaching ability at the club, high school, collegiate, or international level
• Previous coaching experience at the high school, college/university, international or elite club level.
• Excellent communication skills
• Has demonstrated the ability to prepare practice plans
• Good organizational skills
• Works well with players ranging from beginner to experienced collegiate and masters

Coach will be paid on a per-experience basis.

The intent is to create a lasting relationship with annual reviews conducted by the Board.
