High School Water Polo Coach Wanted
The Park City Water Polo Club is seeking applicants for a Men’s and Women’s High School Water Polo Coach. .
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the program manager and age group coaches in daily operations; assisting in all aspects of coaching in practices and games; assisting in overall program planning and organization; assisting with video analysis and other duties assigned by the program manager coach.
Coaches are required to be registered and certified by USA Water Polo. In order to be a registered and certified USA Water Polo coach there are five (5) steps that must be completed. These steps include
1.) Register/Renew your membership with USA Water Polo. You will need to select the "Coach" option from the menu. Renewal is required each calendar year. Those coaches who do not register as a coach put themselves and their clubs at risk.
2.) All coaches must have taken the USOC online SafeSport course.
3.) Coaches must have current CPR and First Aid certification on file with the National Office. Current EMT, Paramedic and ACLS Certifications are also accepted.
4.) Coaches must have a current background screening on file with the National Office. Background screenings cost $20 and are required every 2 years.
5.) Coaches must successfully complete concussion and head injury education at least once, either in person or online. Accepted courses include, but are not limited to the CDC or NFHS HEADS UP Concussion Online Training Course.
Season: Year round. Main High School season runs February through May. Park City Water Polo participates in a Fall Season and Junior Olympics in the summer.
Hours: Part Time: M – F 3:00pm to 5:00pm plus games and tournaments during High School season.
Competitive high school or collegiate playing experience, or similar, preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicating with high school students, parents, team manager, officials and other local teams.
Ability to work effectively with teenagers.
Motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Ability to provide team with skilled instruction and leadership
Pay based on previous experience.
