Occidental College--Assistant Aquatics Coach
POSITION: Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Water Polo Coach
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and valid driver’s license required. The qualified candidate should have 1-3 years of competitive high school or college coaching experience. Strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes, good communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work amiably with students, administrators, and faculty within the rules and regulations of the College, the SCIAC, and NCAA Division III.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Reports to both Aquatics Head Coaches and assists in all phases of the 2017/18 Men’s and Women’s Water Polo & Swim seasons. Assists the coaching staff with the organization and direction of all aspects of the NCAA Division III Water Polo & Swim teams.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Planning and leading training sessions
Recruiting and scouting prospective student-athletes
Event management duties for home water polo games and swim meets
Other duties as assigned
SALARY: $22,000 over 11 months, paid $1,000 bi-weekly. There are also opportunities to make additional income through working with our swim lesson academy. This position is not eligible for benefits and is limited to 30 hours per week.
Start Date: August 15, 2017
