Pride Water Polo Academy located in Westlake Village, CA is searching for a Head Coach for our Boys 16U/18U intermediate level team. Successful candidates will most likely possess the following qualifications:
-1 to 3 years of coaching experience and/or NCAA Div 1 playing experience.
-Experience coaching Boys Junior Varsity or Varsity level of competition.
-Ability to travel to local competitions on the weekends, potential locations: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Santa Barbara.
-Ability to instruct fundamental technical skills and basic tactics within a specified system of play.
-Commitment to developing young people of great character through athletics.
Compensation: Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. All coaches receive mileage reimbursement and meal per diem for all tournaments. A hotel room will be provided by the club for tournaments requiring long distance travel.
Job Description: Head Coach 16U/18U Intermediate Group
The Pride Water Polo Academy strives to develop competitive youth water polo players with strong personal character and the highest integrity. A Pride coach will work with the club leadership and the players to achieve this objective.
General Requirements, Responsibilities and Expectations
-Attend all assigned club events (e.g., practices, clinics, & competitions). If unable to attend an assigned event, pre-coordinate a suitable replacement with club leadership with at least two weeks notice.
-Arrive at least 15 minutes before each practice and stay at the practice until all players depart.
-Arrive at least 1 hour before each competition and stay until all players depart.
-Adhere to professional dress standards(i.e., club shirts and jackets) at all assigned club events.
-Accept responsibility for conduct of players at all club events. Report misconduct to club leadership.
-Adhere to all established safety practices and procedures. Immediately report all hazardous conditions to club leadership. Provide a safe environment for players to train and compete.
-Maintain up to date CPR and First Aid certifications (reimbursed by club)
-In case of an emergency during an assigned event, follow all emergency procedure to ensure safety of players, coaches and other personnel associated with the club.
Coaches will not own, manage, operate, consult or be employed in a youth water polo club or a business substantially similar to, or competitive with, the present business of the Pride Water Polo Academy or such business activity in which the club may substantially engage during their term.
