WHAT:  USAWP Referee Certification School

COST:  $10 USAWP Members / $20 Non-Members

(Please make sure you are logged into your USAWP account when registering to receive the $10 registration option)

 

The School will highlight Current USA Water Polo Rules and Interpretations including Modifications for younger age divisions and presentations by your local referee leadership in regard to Training and Evaluation opportunities in your Zone.  

ATTENDANCE MEETS INSTRUCTIONAL CERTIFICTION CRITERIA FOR NEW AND RETURNING REFEREES. 

  • Coaches and Brand New Referees Welcome!
  • High School and College aged athletes interested in becoming referee members are encouraged to attend!
  • No experience necessary!

 

How do I become a USA Water Polo Referee?

  1. Register with USA Water Polo as a "Referee", "Rookie Referee", or "Referee/Coach" Member:  www.usawaterpolo.org
  2. Complete your background screening, safesport certification, and concussion management course. All of these can be found in your USAWP member page.
  3. Take and pass the USAWP Rules Exam. You can access the test by logging into your USAWP member page and clicking on "Referee Hub" on the left top of your screen.
  4. Attend a Certification School and complete any associated testing.
  5. Contact your ZONE HEAD REFEREE for details on completing your PRACTICAL TRAINING.
  6. Once you successfully complete your "on deck" observation you are certified as a "Rookie-Level 1" Referee and are subject to assignment criteria and limits set forth by your Zone.
